Hello and welcome back to a new school year!

It is that time of year again when I reach out to see if your students would again like to participate in the 2good2be_4gotten project. Now in its Fifth year!

The participation the last few years has been wonderful and it would be a pleasure to see it continued.

I have to say the art work is always amazing and well received, confirming all my beliefs in the importance of art in our schooling system and the importance and power of sharing its creative impact.

LOVE AND GRATITUDE PROJECT FOR SENIORS AND YOUNG ARTISTS

~The history behind this creative endeavour~

“I wanted the Postcards of “LOVE AND GRATITUDE” to reach out to seniors.

This project started during covid, many of our seniors had such a hard time and really it is often they that have the most wisdom to give us in trying times. I often think of my father, in his senior years, his wise examples in times of challenge. He had a stoic, graceful resilience, with deep emotion he kept in check to get through and was always so positive. I think much of that comes from life experience. Most seniors have this wisdom, their examples can often help guide the way, they have experience. I think the covid year reminded us much in their regards. The art cards; a way to remember, to learn from an early age, any age, of their continued value.

Hoping for this project to become permanent, yearly, within our schooling systems; to involve school children making “LOVE AND GRATITUDE” Postcards through out the years going forward, to give, to teach, to learn, continued gratitude for seniors.” ~ Dec 16, 2020

In September 2021, I approached local schools with a batch of blank postcards, with the wish to have students create special cards, that I brought to senior homes in early December for the holidays. The start of this creative endeavour called~

2 GOOD 2 BE 4 GOTTEN ~ LOVE AND GRATITUDE PROJECT FOR SENIORS FROM YOUNG ARTISTS.

All the art postcards are posted on an instagram account:  2good2be_4gotten.

Show casing all art work created, by which schools and to where they have been delivered. No students full names are mentioned due to privacy. 

A Kaleidoscope of support, expression, style, creativity and talent has continued to evolved. A beautiful woven tapestry of LOVE and GRATITUDE from young artists to seniors!
